Three brave members of the Analox team put on their trainers and took to the streets of Newcastle last Sunday for the Great North Run 2019. With the sun shining and the crowd cheering them on, Matt Lambert, Ellis Johnson and Clark Peacock ran for 13.1 miles with 57,000 other runners in this famous UK half marathon. Running for different charities our trepid trio, faced the challenge head-on finishing with some amazing times!
Ellis running on behalf of South Tees Hospital commented; "With little training before doing this, I was starting to feel very nervous before we start running. The cheering crowd was electric and helped us around a lot of the way by handing out ice pops and jelly babies, I've never tasted an ice pop like that around 11 miles in haha. Happy with my time of exactly 2:20:57. Hope I get a place for next years run!"
Matt who ran a personal best added, "A fantastic achievement all round. I ran to raise money on behalf of Cancer Research UK. A charity which will hopefully one day find the cure for cancer, which has touched the lives of so many people. I have raised approximately £700.00 and I did this whilst also running my personal best time of 1:55.50."
Matt continued, "I find the GNR extremely emotional. It is a very difficult run and when you notice why people are running it can be very touching. The support from the people along the route was amazing! They are there cheering you on, handing out sliced oranges, ice pops, jelly babies, which they have bought. Big up the North East! I hate the Great North Run, but I love everything it brings, roll on next year and thank you all who have supported me."
Well Done Guys! Such an amazing achievement - we are very proud to have you part of the Analox Team!
