We had our Christmas lunch at the Wainstones Hotel Great Broughton in 2015, and we had such a lovely time, we decided to go back.

Not only is the Wainstones only five minutes away from our offices in Stokesley, you can get a three-course meal with coffee for £14.95. Considering everyone is always skint at Christmas, this is a real bargain!

You get a great selection of food for your money. Starters included melon cocktail, leek and potato soup, black pudding and the old Christmas favourite, prawn cocktail. The soup was thick and creamy and the black pudding portion was absolutely huge!

Mains included turkey and beef, as well as chicken breast and haddock with pea veloute. All the meals came with vegetables and roast potatoes. Several members of the team raved about the roasties last year, and we were pleased to say that they were just as good this time around.

Desserts included amaretto ice cream, sticky toffee pudding and an enormous portion of white chocolate cheesecake.

We had to miss out on the coffee as we were running a little bit late and needed to get back to work, but we all agreed that the food was fantastic and that we all were tempted to take a little ‘nana nap’ when we got back to the office.
