The Sun Newspaper’s employment pages has announced its ‘Best of British’ companies to work for in the UK and Analox has been named 6th in the medium sized business category.
The awards were based on applications received from across the nation including global brands like Tesco, National Express and Halfords, with winning criteria based on creating jobs, building local communities and keeping the economy growing.
Analox has experienced growth within the last year and now employs 72 people at its offices in Stokesley and four members of staff based in California, USA. We pride ourselves on being an active part within the community, often fundraising for local charities including Zoe’s Place in Middlesbrough and also national charities like Macmillan Cancer Support, when employee's baked dozens of cakes and pies for their colleagues donating money to the cause.
Alongside raising money for charities, Analox also allows its staff to have one day per year to take part in a charity day. The team have been involved in setting up Cornshed Festival in aid of The Great North Air Ambulance, walking dogs for SARA (Saltburn Animal Rescue Association) and de-weeding whole islands for RSPB’s reserve at Saltholme, Middlesbrough.
Analox is also heavily involved in raising the profile of UK manufacturing in local schools, recently attending several careers evenings and taking part in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) day helping to engage young people in those disciplines.
We firmly believe in progressing employees and have taken on several apprentices who are now full time staff. We’re also involved in the YINI (Year in Industry Student) scheme, currently employing a pre-Engineering Technology university student who’ll be attending Sheffield University next year.
Not only did Analox come 6th in the medium sized business category, but we were also listed 37th overall, beating the likes of Ovo Energy, First Personnel and Premier Inn.
Julie Cole, HR Manager said, “We’re really pleased to be named as one of the Best of British places to work. We’re extremely proud of the fact that we’re a UK based manufacturing company which exports worldwide. This was highlighted earlier this year when we were recognised for services to the Commonwealth, appearing in the official ‘Queen’s 90th Birthday’ commemorative book.
“Analox makes a conscious effort to be involved in the community and help raise the profile of UK businesses and especially engineering to those youngsters who are deciding their career paths. It’s great for Analox to be recognised on a national level which also highlights the outstanding contribution our employees make to the company.”
