Staff from Analox volunteered at SARA (Saltburn Animal Rescue Association) to help them set up for a fundraising event in September.
A team from Analox already lent their time to the charity in July, but staff from SARA were so impressed by their efforts, they asked if there were any further volunteers to help them prepare for their open day.
A group of Analox staff visited SARA on Wednesday 7 September, helping look after the animals as well as general cleaning around the Arundel Centre.
The charity day was attended by a mix of staff from different departments, some of whom hadn’t taken part in a charity day before.
Kerry Sturman, Contracts Manager for Analox Military Systems, said: “I volunteered at SARA two years ago and it was great to come back and see the improvements which have been made. The team showed us some of the upcoming projects they have planned, including a sensory garden for dogs. We all had an enjoyable day and hope the open day is a success.”
John Fuller, Public Relations Officer, SARA said: “Our September open day is one of the biggest events of the year so it was fantastic to get help from the Analox team. Not only did they walk the dogs and clean the cat enclosures, but they helped us prepare for Saturday by cleaning our hall and setting up stalls and tables. They are welcome back anytime.”
The annual open day is being held on Saturday 10 September 11am-4pm at Foxrush Farm, Kirkleatham Lane, in Redcar.
This year’s event includes farm tours, a mini fun dog show, doggy games, a flyball display and entertainment by the Cleveland Uke’s.
Refreshments will be available for those attending including a barbeque and cake stall, and there will also be several stalls selling a variety of items, as well as a raffle, tombola and face painting.
Analox staff get one day a year to help local charities. Nominate your charity and we will come and help you for the day!
