Seven staff from Analox volunteered at a local animal charity on Wednesday 13th July.
SARA (Saltburn Animal Rescue Association)’s animal shelter at Foxrush Farm in Redcar, looks after and helps re-home dogs, cats and rabbits.
The charity was first formed in 1995 by a small group of animal lovers, who sought to help stray or neglected animals in need. They provided a fostering and rehoming service in the local area and veterinary care to all its animals until responsible permanent homes could be found.
In 1999, they launched an appeal to raise funds to buy a suitable site for an animal centre. This was achieved several years later and they officially opened their sanctuary in September 2009.
The charity has now been established for over 20 years and in that time they have rehomed or returned to their owners over 6,000 animals.
Analox staff carry out a charity day once a year, where they volunteer for a local community organisation. This year they have already helped out at the Cornshed Music Festival and now SARA.
Teams from Analox have volunteered at SARA for many years and staff have even adopted animals from the shelter in the past.
During their visit they donated a collection of food and toys for the animals, and spent time walking the dogs, cleaning the cat pens and rabbit hutches, gardening and setting up tables for an upcoming fundraising event.
Araminta Hartley, Content Writer, Analox, said: “My family adopted a dog from SARA before the sanctuary was built, so it was nice to see the progress they have made at Foxrush Farm. I was really impressed by their facilities and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The day was a wonderful experience as I got to fuss over cats while cleaning out their pens and I really enjoyed walking the dogs around the community woodland. It was also a great opportunity for me to work together with my colleagues outside of an office environment and get to know them better. ”
John Fuller, Public Relations Officer, SARA, said: "Analox have previously volunteered at SARA and it is always a pleasure to see them. We really appreciated their help during one of their charity days, as they assisted us in several jobs including clearing out all the weeds in the memory garden, and even fixing one of our benches. We would happily welcome them back next year."
Analox is always on the lookout for new charities to help out with, so if you know a community organisation which would appreciate a little extra help, please get in touch by emailing email@example.com
SARA will be hosting a Grand Bazaar sale on Saturday 16th July 10am to 3pm.
Items they will be selling include books, household items, children’s toys and pet supplies.
The event is being hosted at the Arundel Centre, Foxrush Farm, Kirkleatham Lane, Redcar, TS10 5NJ.
