Our Sales Manager, Matt Lambert, is lacing up his running shoes and pounding the pavements to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Matt is taking part in the running challenge OutRun May, which is a fundraising event for Macmillan.
Participants of the challenge set themselves a mileage target for May and then aim to run this distance during the 31 days of that month.
Matt is an avid runner and has set himself a target of 130-150 miles, which is approximately 4.5 miles a day.
This will be a challenging task as Matt will have to fit this around his full time job and his family life.
Matt said: “Helen, my wife is a Macmillan Cancer Specialist Nurse and the thought of her leaving the house every morning to support people who are unfortunate to be diagnosed with cancer and other life threatening illnesses makes me extremely proud. It’s certainly not a job I could do. It’s not just the people who have cancer who are affected but the family and friends who need support through this difficult time.”
2.5 million people are living with cancer in the UK, and this number is set to grow to four million by 2030. Macmillan provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. They also look at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaign for better cancer care.
