If you live or work in Stokesley, you’ll be aware that it has two mills. One is the site of the Mill Wheel, a piece of history thought to represent the site of a mill recorded in the Domesday Book. The other Mill is just over the road and serves food and drink.

The Mill Pub was recently refurbished and has been celebrating by collecting lots of accolades. Earlier in September, The Mill were regional winners in the Great British Pub Awards 2015, scooping both Best Partnership Pub and Best Newcomer. The pub also has a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.

So… The Mill has lots of awards, but what is the food like? The team ordered a wide range of food from burgers and fish finger butties to risotto… and everyone cleared their plates! (We can heartily recommend the sweet potato fries!)

The team take turns once a month to choose where they go next, and it looks like a trip to The Mill is on the cards in the not-too-distant-future. As the food was so delicious, nobody has any problems going there again!

If you recommend somewhere in North Yorkshire that we should try out for a future blog post, we’d love to hear from you!
